Material data for energy-oriented refurbishment of old buildings.
The stock of old buildings, which constitutes approximately 80% of all buildings, has the greatest potential for reducing energy consumption. Major energy savings can be made in this area through construction measures such as thermal insulation, the use of solar radiation or the improvement of the interior climate through heating, ventilation or cooling. Since the Energy Savings Ordinance came into force in February 2002, guidelines on energy-related and structural thermal protection also apply to the renovation of old buildings.
