Bassoon in C
Bassoon made of dark stained brown wood in four sections (wing, butt, bass and bell), and brass mounts and keywork. Crook is missing. Bell of standard flare design. Unsigned wing joint may not belong to the instrument. Six keys mounted in saddles, with flat touches and covers, and flat springs. Tenons wrapped in thread. Brass strap ring on top of butt joint. Nominal pitch: C. This instrument was played by Mr. W. H. Staite of Upton St. Leonards, before the installation of an organ at Badgeworth Church.
