Marble head of a youth
This marble head was either imported from Athens or it was the work of a Cypriot artist trained in Athens. Since marble is not available in Cyprus, the statues were imported in finished or semi-finished form from Greece. The identity of the depicted youth is unknown, although some scholars believe that he may be the son of king Androkles of Amathus. This marble head is part of the Department of Antiquities' (Cyprus) collection.
